Taking soil tests and structural elements into consideration
each home receives a custom engineered, stamped and designed foundation. Either
concrete slab on grade or concrete pier and beam depending on location. When
possible positioning the home on the lot to take
maximum advantage of natural sunlight, landscaping options, drainage and
maintenance considerations are a part of foundation design. The monolithic concrete slab is poured on top of a polyethylene vapor retarder which forms an effective barrier against moisture, vapor and soil gases such as radon. The slab is strengthened with reinforcing steel and all plumbing penetrations are sealed with caulking. In elevated construction to prevent energy loss and add hurricane resistant strength to the structure, our foundations consist of a pier and beam design that supports a lightweight concrete slab. We then incorporate our steel reinforced SIP's (structural insulated panels) to create a super-insulated, hurricane strong floor system. This too will keep your house warmer in the winter and cooler in the summer.
